# Mind Structure executable-fidelity audit

**State:** candidate pending current human review
**Machine-readable authority:** `MIND_STRUCTURE_EXECUTABLE_FIDELITY_AUDIT.json`
**Git snapshot:** `codex/mind-structure-ratio-recursion-20260901` at `2c4bbb4f1a289ec38773477c3a02234539c9e064`
**Byte binding:** fifteen committed portable artifacts plus four untracked hash-bound exclusions

## Outcome

The governed commit preserves the authored dimensions × seven depths × twelve addresses at every recursive `MindNode`. Seven is the current internally derived Y-Theory Mind depth architecture; the open question here is the complete transition operator, not the number seven.

The first causal slice now runs. One ratio-defined G3 vertical delayed consequence/residue candidate visits every compiled address from one immutable pre-step snapshot. Missing prehistory blocks relational drive until the requested retained sample exists; the engine no longer substitutes the oldest sample while reporting warm-up. The committed governed Node suite is **25/25 passing** with zero failures, cancellations, or skips.

The explicit boundary is `completeMindDynamicsImplemented=false`. G3 candidate conformance is implemented and tested, but it is not a source-authorized universal numerical kernel. G4–G7 remain open.

## Retained without promotion

- The normalized triad chart satisfies its declared plane and unit-norm identities up to floating-point roundoff.
- Standard torus coordinates round-trip under `A > a > 0` and ordinary angle wrapping.
- Clifford two-angle coordinates remain on the unit three-sphere up to floating-point roundoff.
- A normalized nonnegative weighted phase phasor has coherence in `[0,1]`; zero coherence has no valid collective phase.
- The scalar seven-depth browser oscillator remains a bounded legacy implementation fact.
- The recursive factory proves exact dimensions × seven × twelve shape reuse.
- The G3 candidate proves executable vertical conformance, reference-frequency covariance, deterministic replay, and arbitrary recursive-topology reuse under its declared ratios and policy.

## Verified repairs

- `etaRatio` derives residue strength relative to `omegaBase²`, with normalized scale covariance tested.
- **Dynamic delay capacity** follows live frequency and delay-ratio changes.
- A live lag expansion returns the affected routes to `warming`; unavailable prehistory produces no relational effect.
- An external relational face passes through retained per-depth delay rather than bypassing memory.
- Every G3 cell uses one immutable pre-step state, preventing traversal order from becoming a hidden law.
- Histories are independently owned across node, dimension, depth, and address.
- Runtime ratios, tolerances, and `warmup_block` policy are mandatory; no hidden operational defaults are accepted.
- Zero-coherence collective phase is explicitly invalid; presets reset reproducibly; periodic address seams are normalized.
- The legacy relation probe remains a deliberately **noncausal** diagnostic.

## Gate ledger

`G1`–`G7` below name the governed structural/dynamic gates. The two residual browser-laboratory issues are separately namespaced `L1` and `L2` in the JSON audit so they cannot contradict the implemented G1/G2 contract gates.

- G1 exact dimensions × 7 × 12 shape: implemented and tested.
- G2 identical compilation/operator fingerprint across arbitrary recursive topology: implemented and tested. The legacy visual `6 → 2 → 1` POC remains only one fixed demonstration.
- G3 vertical delayed consequence and residue: candidate conformance implemented and tested; canonical operator selection remains open.
- G4 horizontal same-depth relation: open.
- G5 distributed whole convergence: open.
- G6 changed return into depth one: open.
- G7 bidirectional child↔wider consequence: open.

## Excluded concurrent prototypes

Four untracked artifacts are hash-recorded but excluded from the governed evidence set: `bit-universe-engine.js`, `bit-universe-interface.js`, `mind-node-engine.js`, and `test/mind-node-engine.test.js`. Their exclusion is based on provenance and contract scope, not their current test outcome. The bit-universe pair is a generic cellular automaton. The mind-node pair is an uncommitted scalar-triad prototype with absolute coefficients and no exact recursive dimensions × seven × twelve field.

The governed command is explicit so the excluded test cannot enter by glob:

```text
node --test test/engine-conformance.test.js test/mind-contract.test.js test/mind-dynamics.test.js
```

## Three diagnostics that must stay separate

1. **Temporal resolvability** asks whether sampling resolves actual change without aliasing.
2. **Projected-address visitation** counts which bins of a declared projection were visited in a finite window.
3. **Hidden-state recoverability** requires explicit lag vectors, theorem hypotheses, and comparison with a known hidden state or topology; it is not implemented.

Temporal resolution does not prove coverage. Coverage does not prove reconstruction. A delay line is not automatically a Takens embedding. None of these diagnostics proves external physical universality, observerhood, cognition, consciousness, or subjective experience.

## Decision

Accept commit `2c4bbb4f1a289ec38773477c3a02234539c9e064` as the governed executable-fidelity candidate snapshot. Preserve G3 as tested candidate conformance. Do not describe the project as the complete causal Mind until G4 horizontal relation, G5 distributed whole convergence, G6 changed return, and G7 wider-local consequence are implemented and tested without collapsing the exact recursive address field.
