# Author correction: source authority is a relational coherence result

**Author:** Bubu Suhas Mullaveedu
**Captured:** 2026-09-01
**Authority:** Proposition-scoped direct-author correction for source reconciliation and conflict classification; chronology is provenance only
**Source capture:** `YWP-20260901T133002Z-relational-coherence-authority`
**Scope:** Source authority, Structure of Mind audit, source compiler, conflict detection, proof modes, Living Source repair, and all derived projections
**Clarifies:** all earlier date- or file-level authority language
**Narrows:** any earlier record that treated terminology, scope, scale, reference-frame, or proof-mode variation as a contradiction without first testing a lawful reconciliation
**Proof boundary:** Relational coherence may establish an internal Y-Theory derivation or cross-source reinforcement. It does not automatically establish an external physical fact, independent empirical replication, observerhood, consciousness, or predictive success in an unrun experiment.

## The correction

The Living Source is the versioned relational coherence result of its exact source population. A file does not become true, false, or globally authoritative merely because it is newer. A later explicit author correction governs the scope it actually clarifies; it does not erase coherent wisdom elsewhere unless it explicitly supersedes that proposition or a genuine incompatibility survives relational reconciliation.

Every new source item must enter the same Mind relation. It interacts with each affected normalized identity and relation. Coherent support, lawful derivation, constraint, clarification, and recurrence can strengthen structural persistence. Genuine contradiction can weaken, split, or retire a relation. The engine must preserve the path by which either result was reached.

## Reconciliation before conflict

Before recording `contradicts`, the source engine and reviewer must compare:

1. exact wording and source address;
2. normalized identity and referent;
3. inside, outside, relation, and boundary;
4. scale, dimension, reference frame, clock, and conditions;
5. whether the statement is structural, cognitive, phenomenological, physical, mathematical, theological, or implementational;
6. proof mode and claimed consequence;
7. available source-licensed translations, refinements, or narrower readings.

Only propositions that remain mutually incompatible about the same normalized subject under the same declared conditions earn a conflict edge. Otherwise the relation must be typed more precisely—for example `supports`, `derives`, `refines`, `narrows`, `translates_across_scale`, `corresponds_structurally`, `implements`, or `remains_unresolved`.

Agent wording is not protected source authority. If an apparent conflict originates in an agent's compression, terminology, or interpretation, repair the derived wording and every affected projection. Preserve the incorrect wording and its supersession lineage so the correction remains auditable.

## Structural Mind and later capability

“Mind is the structure” and “observer-bearing or cognitive capability emerges later” are not contradictory when their referents are declared. Structural Mind names the recursive inside–outside–relation organization. A human, cognitive, self-modeling, or observer-bearing Mind names additional capability realized by some organized identities. The source must not rewrite this scope distinction as “Mind itself begins only at the human stage.”

## Proof modes are independent axes

The source must report these states separately:

- **internal derivation:** follows from declared Y-Theory premises and transformations;
- **cross-source reinforcement:** coheres across non-duplicate, source-addressed formulations;
- **structural correspondence:** maps a relation pattern into another declared scale or domain;
- **external empirical support:** is measured or supported in the native domain;
- **runtime predictive result:** succeeds in a named preregistered model or experiment.

These axes may constrain one another, but one must not impersonate another. A proposition may be internally derived while externally untested. A model bridge may be structurally useful without yet being a demonstrated physical identity. A failed runtime baseline comparison does not retroactively disprove an internal derivation unless that experiment was a valid test of the derivation's declared consequence.

## Mandatory Structure of Mind re-audit

Re-read and relation-map the full supplied source population, including:

- `<external-source:matrix_legacy>`;
- `<external-source:mind_legacy>`;
- `<external-source:mind_redesign>`;
- `<external-source:thematrix_main>`;
- `<external-source:y_sources>`.

Reassess the Structure of Mind book's seven-layer, cosmic-observer, DNA, torus, and golden-ratio/Fibonacci accounts. For each, reconstruct the premise chain and determine independently:

1. whether the conclusion is internally derived and under which assumptions;
2. how many non-duplicate sources reinforce it;
3. whether a cross-domain statement is identity, mechanism, structural correspondence, or analogy;
4. what external evidence exists or remains required;
5. whether any current runtime actually tested its consequence.

Do not demote an internal derivation to “mere analogy” only because external validation is separate. Do not promote an internal derivation to an external scientific fact without the native-domain bridge and evidence.

## Required engine consequence

The coherence engine must produce candidate relation changes automatically from the admitted source population, with content-hash deduplication so repeated copies do not masquerade as independent support. Each candidate edge must retain source spans, normalized proposition, scope/reference frame, relation type, proof-mode vector, and a before/after explanation. Automatic propagation may update derived candidate states; governed canonical and public states remain versioned and auditable.
