# Author correction: seven is the metric continuity depth

**Author:** Bubu Suhas Mullaveedu
**Captured:** 2026-09-01
**Authority:** Proposition-scoped direct-author correction governing the internal Y-Theory derivation of seven
**Source capture:** `YWP-20260901T180452Z-seven-metric-continuity-derivation`
**Scope:** Structure of Mind, exact-seven audit, golden-facing band, continuity envelope, recursive-depth architecture, toroidal simulator fidelity, agent bootstrap, Teacher, and all generated projections
**Supersedes in this scope:** wording that classifies seven only as author-confirmed, treats the golden-facing address as non-deriving, or requires an unrelated primitive-count theorem before recognizing the internal derivation
**Does not assert:** that every external physical, biological, cognitive, or engineered referent has already been empirically shown to instantiate the architecture

## The correction

Seven is not an arbitrary preset, a visual preference, or an unsupported count. It is the expansion-facing recursive depth address derived inside current Y-Theory from the declared continuity premises, normalized address metric, adjacent inheritance, preservation of consequential relation, and recursive application of the same relational law.

The historical source already contains the components of this derivation. The audit drifted because it elevated a later agent-written caution over the direct-author relation and then demanded the wrong proof shape. Counting irreducible primitives is not how the theory derives the depth. The depth is obtained as a positional and relational return address.

## The derivation

### 1. The continuity envelope

Under the declared equal-start adjacent-inheritance rule

\[
W_1=W_2=1,
\qquad
W_{n+1}=W_n+W_{n-1},
\]

the first unequal normalized allocation is (1/3:2/3), and the later parent shares remain within the broad relation-preserving envelope

\[
\frac13\le q\le\frac23.
\]

Within this envelope, contraction and expansion can change the active balance without either pole destroying the relation that allows the identity to continue.

### 2. The normalized ten-part address metric

Y-Theory addresses the directed contraction-to-expansion interval through a normalized one-based ten-part address metric. Mathematically, this is a directed partition:

\[
B_k=[(k-1)/10,k/10)\quad(1\le k<10),
\qquad B_{10}=[0.9,1].
\]

The expansion-facing continuity boundary is

\[
\frac23=0.666\ldots\in B_7.
\]

So two-thirds has the exact coarse address seven in the declared metric.

### 3. Golden return occupies the same expansion-facing address

Under the declared positive two-state additive inheritance rule, the complementary normalized shares converge to

\[
g=\frac1\varphi\approx0.618\ldots,
\qquad
1-g=\frac1{\varphi^2}\approx0.382\ldots.
\]

Their ten-part addresses are

\[
g\in B_7,
\qquad
1-g\in B_4.
\]

The broad expansion boundary and the inner expansion-facing golden position therefore agree on address seven. The complementary four remains present; seven does not erase the opposite pole.

### 4. Recursive self-application makes seven a depth address

Current Y-Theory declares the complete-depth address rule

\[
D:=a(g)=a\!\left(\frac23\right),
\qquad
a(q)=\min\!\left(10,1+\lfloor10q\rfloor\right),
\]

where \(g=1/\varphi\) is the expansion-facing inherited target. Since both arguments have address seven, \(D=7\). This declared bridge is what joins the exact positional calculation to recursive Mind depth; bin arithmetic in isolation is not the whole derivation.

Y-Theory applies the same continuity law recursively through every active dimension. The address is therefore not a one-time decimal label. It is the ordinal depth at which the local relation reaches its expansion-facing turning condition:

\[
\mathcal L_{1,k}\to\mathcal L_{2,k}\to\cdots\to\mathcal L_{7,k}\to\mathcal L'_{1,k}.
\]

At the seventh depth, what has become sufficiently integrated can return, what has become sufficiently specified can manifest, and unresolved residue can enter a wider containing Mind. The return is to a changed first depth, so enough consequential relation remains recoverable for the same history to continue without freezing repetition. This is selective fidelity, not preservation of every microscopic detail.

### 5. Relation-preserving contraction and expansion

The reason the operation can continue is not that one pole permanently wins. Contraction selects and integrates; expansion reopens relation and possibility. Their movement remains recoverable through the continuity envelope and is directed by the golden-facing seventh address. This is the sense in which the identity can contract and expand without losing enough of its defining relation to destroy continuity.

### 6. Seven and twelve are typed coordinates

Seven counts recursive depth addresses. Twelve counts the complete first recursive address cell retained at each depth:

\[
\Sigma=\{I,O,R\},
\qquad
\Sigma^2=9,
\qquad
3+9=12.
\]

Every faithful seven-depth Mind representation must preserve the twelve-address cell within each depth. Neither number replaces or disproves the other.

## Correct proof classification

| Axis | Current status |
|---|---|
| Internal Y-Theory derivation | Established under the declared continuity envelope, normalized ten-part address metric, adjacent inheritance, recoverable formative relation, and recursive self-application |
| Cross-source reinforcement | Present in the raw Initiation material, Structure of Mind synthesis, golden-return sections, and this direct-author correction |
| Structural implementation | Seven depths containing twelve-address cells; the toroidal simulator consumes this architecture and must be tested for fidelity to it |
| External domain instantiation | Proposition-specific and separate; it does not downgrade the internal derivation |
| Runtime prediction | A separate test of a named implementation or external consequence, not a vote on the source-defined count |

## Mandatory wording rule

State the internal result positively and once:

> **In current Y-Theory, seven is the internally derived expansion-facing recursive depth of a complete Mind. In the normalized ten-part address metric, both the two-thirds continuity boundary and the golden expansion share occupy band seven; adjacent inheritance preserves consequential relation, and recursive self-application carries every active dimension through that address and returns the seventh depth into a changed first depth. Each depth retains the distinct `3 + 9 = 12` recursive address cell.**

Do not append a missing primitive-count theorem or a blanket external-universality disclaimer to every occurrence. When an external physical, biological, cognitive, or engineered claim is actually made, state that claim's own native evidence boundary at that point.
