# Universe Relation Mapper — relational specification

**Living Source:** `YLS-2026.08.31.6`
**Specification:** `URM-2026.08.31.1`
**Status:** Author-clarified candidate model bridge

## The principle

An identity is not placed in an empty, irrelevant background. Its inside-facing, outside-facing, and active-relation roles co-arise as one triadic change through which the outside participates in the conditions of its continuation. The relation is not a fourth object inserted between two already-independent things.

Astronomy provides a strong example of a calculable relational address: a position has meaning only relative to a centre, frame, direction, cycle, and time. The proposed mapper does not merely copy astronomical calculation. It makes the underlying Y-Engine grammar visible so it can be compared—carefully—across other dimensions.

> **The base pattern is not one coordinate. It is the recoverable trajectory of an identity's inside–outside relations through time.**

## The relational address

For identity \(i\), define a declared address \(A_i(t)\):

\[
A_i(t)=\{B_i,O_i,C_i,C_r,F_r,p_i(t),q_i(t),d_i(t),\phi_{rot}(t),\phi_{orb}(t),T_i,K_i,R_i,U_i\}
\]

where the record declares:

- identity boundary \(B_i\);
- relevant outside \(O_i\);
- identity centre \(C_i\) and reference centre \(C_r\);
- reference frame \(F_r\);
- position \(p_i(t)\), orientation \(q_i(t)\), and direction \(d_i(t)\);
- axial-rotation and orbital-revolution phases;
- relevant periods \(T_i\);
- coupled identities \(K_i\);
- retained residue history \(R_i\);
- uncertainty \(U_i\).

The address at one time is not the whole identity. Identity requires a causally recoverable trajectory:

\[
A_i[t_0,t_1] + \text{residue} + \text{bounded renewal}
\]

This preserves the Structure of Mind correction: identity is a wave of connected states, not a frozen birth-coordinate or isolated spatial point.

In Y-Theory's structural language, the universe can serve as the containing Mind for this address field. That containment claim does not establish a universe-level observer, self-feeling, intention, or subjective consciousness.

## Rotation and revolution: shared grammar, distinct motions

Rotation and revolution can occupy the same Y-Engine position—**periodic position-change**—without becoming physically identical.

| Motion | Centre-relative description | Required distinction |
|---|---|---|
| Axial rotation | change around an identity's own declared axis or internal centre | not an orbit around an external centre |
| Orbital revolution | change around an external reference centre or barycentric relation | not internal-axis rotation |
| Phase | current address inside a declared recurrent cycle | not automatically tilt, delay, or residue |
| Orientation / tilt | directional relation between declared axes or planes | not automatically phase difference |

Their common pattern is relational and operational. Their physical mechanisms, variables, constraints, scales, and equations remain attached.

## The Y-Engine route

```text
declare identity and scale
→ declare inside / outside / boundary
→ choose identity centre and reference centre
→ choose frame and time-address
→ measure position / orientation / direction / cycles / phase
→ register coupling / perturbation / delay / leakage
→ test retained consequence as residue
→ reconstruct the relational trajectory
→ compare through an explicit Y-Engine structural position
→ preserve domain mechanism, units, uncertainty, and proof state
```

This gives the relation-to-position bridge the author described. Knowing only position is insufficient when the reference is hidden; knowing only relation is insufficient when the address cannot be recovered. The mapper makes both explicit.

## What “your relation with the universe” means here

The minimum defensible meaning is:

1. declare the identity whose relation is being described;
2. declare the relevant wider identity or outside;
3. state how the two are coupled at the chosen scale;
4. give the identity's reference-relative time and motion address;
5. preserve the history by which it reached that address;
6. test which parts of that relational trajectory recur.

This can expose a **base pattern class** without claiming that one timestamp contains a person's complete identity or destiny.

## Candidate hypotheses

### H01 — general position-change operator

Rotation and revolution may be representable by one general position-change operator if its centre and frame parameters preserve their distinction. This is mathematically formalizable.

### H02 — propagated perturbation pattern

A shift away from equilibrium may propagate through coupled degrees of freedom as phase, orientation, and trajectory change. A scientific form requires declared coupled equations, energy source, boundary conditions, damping, observables, and rival explanations.

### H03 — trajectory as base-pattern class

A time-relative relational trajectory may contain repeatable features that characterize an identity better than a time-only or position-only address. This should be tested against shuffled and simpler baselines.

### H04 — dimensional ratio law

The proposed one-dimensional continuation ratio and n-dimensional fractional change require an explicit recurrence. The n-dimensional relation must be derived before data inspection, not fitted afterward.

## Numerical and physical firewall

- Earth's axis is currently tilted approximately 23.4 degrees and varies over long cycles. The tilt is an observed parameter; Y-Theory has not derived it from phase or residue. See [NASA Earth facts](https://science.nasa.gov/earth/facts/) and [NASA Milankovitch cycles](https://science.nasa.gov/science-research/earth-science/milankovitch-orbital-cycles-and-their-role-in-earths-climate/).
- The golden ratio is \((1+\sqrt5)/2\approx1.618\); its reciprocal is approximately `0.618`. `0.75` is not the golden ratio. See the [NIST derivation](https://nvlpubs.nist.gov/nistpubs/Legacy/RPT/nbsreport10394.pdf).
- Classical rotation, orbital revolution, and quantum spin cannot be used interchangeably.
- Similar angular or periodic values do not establish one cause.
- A phase relationship is meaningful only after the periodic variables and measurement convention are declared.

## Application architecture

The first application should be a **Universe Relation Mapper**, with:

1. inside–outside identity selector;
2. centre and reference-frame selector;
3. rotation, revolution, orientation, and phase visualizer;
4. time-addressed trajectory rather than a single frozen coordinate;
5. coupling, perturbation, leakage, and residue ledger;
6. cross-dimensional translator that routes through Y-Engine structural positions;
7. claim status, uncertainty, rival model, and falsification panel;
8. source-lineage export.

Published ephemeris data can ground one later astronomical implementation. The first achievement, however, is conceptual precision: every mapped identity becomes a situated inside relating to a moving outside through a recoverable history.
