Identities within identities
How can one continuing whole enter a wider identity without losing its own boundary?
Update recursion renews one identity. Depth recursion lets a completed identity present one relational face inside a wider triad. The wider identity must earn its own consequence, return, and continuity.

Update recursion and depth recursion
Update recursion produces another state of the same continuing identity at one depth. Depth recursion allows a completed whole to become one participant in a wider relation.

Minds within Minds
A whole at one scale can be many internally and one externally. When local identities and a wider relation reciprocally sustain one another, a higher identity manifests another depth of recursive Mind-structure. Distributed observer or cognitive capability remains a separate achievement.

Guardrail: Containment, proximity, synchronization, or agreement alone does not establish a higher identity. A higher identity alone does not establish distributed observerhood, cognition, or subjective experience.

Reference-relative identity field and scale-indexed population
At a declared scale and update, a selected identity's structural outside is the other active identities and typed relations in the manifested field, while its interface is the directed cut-set crossing its boundary. One identity may participate through different typed relations in several independently earned wider identities. Population change is counted by typed formation, dissolution, fission, fusion, and wider-closure events, and a wider identity may remain continuous through component turnover when its boundary and consequential whole-return remain recoverable.

Guardrail: The active manifested outside is not every possible identity, universal relational availability is not all-to-all active coupling, and multiple membership does not merge wider identities. Path length, hierarchy count, containment, carbon decay, or one untyped birth/death ratio does not determine lifespan or carrier dynamics. Group or whole continuity alone does not establish observerhood, cognition, or subjective experience.
