Foundation · seven reading layers
Possibility shaped by surrounding relations
A possibility becomes locally available through an identity’s present structure and the relations it can actually encounter with its surroundings. Restriction gives a field of continuations structure.
Current Source DNA explanation. Each layer opens another view of the same identity; the original passages keep their own review state.
The central idea
A possibility becomes locally available through an identity’s present structure and the relations it can actually encounter with its surroundings. Restriction gives a field of continuations structure.

What it means
A constraint limits a declared freedom or continuation. Compatibility asks whether a change can preserve the relation currently being followed under those conditions. In the structural reading, probability compares the relative tendency of possible continuations under a declared condition. State whether the question concerns occurrence or carrying the same distinction forward. A numerical probability additionally needs declared outcomes, conditioning and a specified model or measure; neither reading is another word for possibility.

How it connects
Current structure, retained history and surrounding contact jointly shape what can occur next. An identity may alter those conditions through interaction. A constraint that protects one continuation can limit another, so the relevant identity and question must remain explicit.
Geometry and representation
A graph can show allowed contacts and a matrix can address their strengths or transformations. A blank entry needs a meaning: no connection, an unknown connection or an omitted one. A geometrically nearby node is not thereby an allowed contact.

How it works
Declare the accessible neighbors and the condition for exchange before applying an update. If two conditions are jointly required, retain the conjunction in DNA. Splitting them into independent causes would change the explanation.

Across different subjects
The older UVP chapter names physical, trait, belief and model spaces. These remain distinct candidate readings: a structural comparison must name the alternatives and their relative tendency under a declared condition. A numerical formulation additionally needs domain-specific outcomes, conditioning and a specified model or measure; a claim about changing probabilities must also state how the conditions change. A shared pattern of constrained continuation does not supply a universal entropy equation or a numerical persistence threshold by itself.

What an observer can examine
From a chosen node, show direct relations and optional further neighborhoods with their types. Expanding the view reveals more context. It does not establish that every newly visible identity directly influences the observer or the focused system.

Follow the relationships
Compatibility: carrying a distinction through change →
differs-from-availability
Restriction concerns available contacts or changes under conditions. Compatibility concerns whether one such passage preserves the relation being followed. An available passage may end that relation.
An identity can change how it continues →
is-situated-within
The continuations of an identity depend on its actual structure, history and surroundings.

Probability: how possible continuations are weighted →
conditions
Internal organization and actual surrounding relations constrain the continuations and can change their relative tendency. The outcome and condition must be named together; changing a label alone changes no physical relation.

organizes-relational-access
A declared arena specifies which contacts are direct and which conditions are reachable through permitted transitions. A spatial or toroidal drawing does not create these access rules.
