Supplied explanation

The laboratory uses the local raw Arabic source whose SHA-256 is 577af0d6902062ecafc3807db0d7e357d5e91843ccff1e02c72cbf8a8b50bd72. The inherited edition/count table yields 6,236 verses and 77,430 content-word positions. These are properties of the declared source and tokenizer, not universal counts under all orthographic and word-segmentation conventions.

The matrix keeps raw token, normalized surface, heuristic key, chapter and verse, within-verse position and global position. Later passes attach a small set of morphological annotations rather than pretending to have completed a root analysis of all words. The earlier 11,998 heuristic keys and later 14,676 normalized surface forms are different grouping levels. The compressed key column must never be treated as a validated Arabic lemma or root.

Opening basmalas illustrate why scope matters. The raw file has 112 prefixed chapter openings removed for the inherited content convention; 1:1 and 27:30 remain inside numbered-verse content. A report loosely saying every chapter 2–114 has such a prefix overlooks chapter 9. Later explicit scope counts govern the current explanation. The raw-file invocation total and the retained content total answer different questions without changing the source.

Morphology exposes further false numerical certainty. The literal عبر substring yields seven matches, while the bounded published ع ب ر concordance used in Pass 10 has nine. Forms such as عابري and فاعتبروا are missed by contiguous-letter matching. The root includes a passing/travel use that must not be forced into the same cognitive sense as lesson or interpretation. Some remembrance forms likewise do not contain the expected three letters consecutively in normalized spelling. أناب belongs to ن و ب, not أ و ب.

A whole-source query can be exhaustive for its declared spelling rule while still failing to cover a semantic category. Conversely, a hand-selected semantic family can be meaningful without being a complete morphological inventory. Both results are useful if their scope is preserved.

The next morphology layer should add surface segmentation, lemma, root, grammatical function and contextual sense without overwriting the original token. Independent review and inter-annotator disagreements should be stored as data. Translation is an explanatory interface; it cannot silently replace the source’s morphology or speaker roles.

Basis: initial audit; Passes 1–2, 10–14; original tokenizer and matrices preserved in each archive; source and basmala checks in the current validation record.
