The containing Mind
How can local observers belong to one wider reality while remaining distinct points of reference?
Local observer-centres model and act within the same containing field, and their consequences return to it. Y-Theory names that widest manifested relational field the Containing Mind.

Do not infer a giant human-like personality, unified cosmic autobiography, intention, agency, or one phenomenal subject. ‘Monad’ remains a philosophical/spiritual interpretation unless separately governed.
The universe as containing Mind
Given observer as retained present-trace integration returned into later manifestation, local minds inside the universe are situated observer-centers whose models and actions return consequence to the same containing field. Y-Theory names that field the Containing Mind and calls the resulting observer function distributed; this does not assert one unitary phenomenal cosmic subject.

Minds within Minds
A whole at one scale can be many internally and one externally. When local identities and a wider relation reciprocally sustain one another, a higher identity manifests another depth of recursive Mind-structure. Distributed observer or cognitive capability remains a separate achievement.

Guardrail: Containment, proximity, synchronization, or agreement alone does not establish a higher identity. A higher identity alone does not establish distributed observerhood, cognition, or subjective experience.

Mind-structure and local self-correcting mind capability
Uppercase Mind names the recursively reusable inside-outside-relation structure through which identities form and nest at every scale. A local cognitive mind earns self-correcting capability when its bounded, history-bearing relation can retain, integrate, model, and redirect consequential change; observerhood is therefore a later capability of Mind-structure, not the point at which Mind first appears.

Guardrail: Universal Mind-structure does not establish local observerhood, phenomenal consciousness, intention, or a universe-level self. Memory, recurrence, synchrony, data storage, or fluent output alone do not establish those later capabilities.
